Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Differential scanning calorimeter. Mixtures (1.5 - 2.0 mg) of known concentration were weighed into aluminum pans, which were then crimped to preclude sample loss during the heating process. Solubilities determined by measuring melting points of binary mixtures using a Perkin-Elmer DSC-2 differential scanning calorimeter and scan rate of 5 K/min.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- 99+%, Aldrich Chemical Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, was used as received.
- 99%, Aldrich Chemical Company, was vacuum-distilled before use.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: T/K: precision ±0.3 (compiler).
Mole fraction - Liquid (1): x1: ±0.0003 (compiler).
Experimental Values:
| T (K) | x1 | x2 |
|---|---|---|
| 352.4 | 6.925 x 10-1 | 3.075 x 10-1 |
| 356.2 | 7.590 x 10-1 | 2.410 x 10-1 |
| 359.0 | 8.185 x 10-1 | 1.815 x 10-1 |
