Original Measurements

Variables:

Ambient temperature: Temperature

Prepared by:

W.E. Acree, Jr.

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Differential scanning calorimeter. Mixtures (1.5 - 2.0 mg) of known concentration were weighed into aluminum pans, which were then crimped to preclude sample loss during the heating process. Solubilities determined by measuring melting points of binary mixtures using a Perkin-Elmer DSC-2 differential scanning calorimeter and scan rate of 5 K/min.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. 99+%, Aldrich Chemical Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, was used as received.
  2. 99%, Aldrich Chemical Company, was vacuum-distilled before use.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: T/K: precision ±0.3 (compiler).
Mole fraction - Liquid (1): x1: ±0.0003 (compiler).

Experimental Values:
T (K) x1 x2
352.4 6.925 x 10-1 3.075 x 10-1
356.2 7.590 x 10-1 2.410 x 10-1
359.0 8.185 x 10-1 1.815 x 10-1
363.5 9.208 x 10-1 7.92 x 10-2
