<method>The apparatus was similar to that used by Ben Naim and Baer [1] and is described in [2]. The apparatus consists of a burette system for the gas, a mercury manometer and a solution vessel. The mole fraction of dissolved gas is estimated from the volume change at constant pressure of saturated gas in the burettes, and the mass of the solvent in the solution vessel determined by weighing.</method>
