<method>Water was shaken with 1-chlorotetradecane for about 12 hours in a paraffin liquid bath thermostat. The water content of the organic phase was determined by the Karl Fischer titration method. All measurements were carried out in duplicate. A full description of the method used is given in the doctoral dissertation.</method>
