<method>A 1 to 15 volume ratio mixture of water and tetrachloromethane was introduced into an equilibration flask and then lowered into a waterbath thermostat. The assembly was shaken mechanically for about 90 minutes at constant temperature. The amount of water in the organic phase was determined by a modified Karl Fischer titration. The determination was done in triplicate. This description of procedure was taken from a secondary source [1]. The original university report is no longer available.</method>
