<method>Samples were equilibrated for at least ten days in a waterbath thermostat. The chlorinated hydrocarbons were determined using a Perkin-Elmer model 900 gas chromatograph equipped with a flame ionization detector and an automatic digital integrator. A helium carrier gas and a Poropack QS column were used for the chromatographic analyses.</method>
