 <method>A mixture of 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane and water was preheated to the desired temperature before rapid mixing. The resulting mixture was thermostated and the equilibrium was maintained by vigorous stirring. The concentration of 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane in water was determined by gas chromatography.</method>
