 <method>The apparatus consisted of Beckmann tube with air-jacket, thermometer and stirred. Known amount of aqueous alcohol mixture of known composition and benzene were placed in a tube. Aqueous alcohol mixtures were prepared gravimetrically. Components were added from an accurate pipette, which had been carefully graduated by weight. The reported temperatures (the mean of two or three observations) were those at which the liquid separated into two layers. The results, for the round temperatures, were interpolated by the authors from the curves. Concentrations were reported as alcohol mass concentration in alcohol-water mixture used in the experiment and benzene mass concentration in the solution which became turbid. The temperatures at which benzene crystallized from the investigated mixtures of known compositions were reported also in the paper.</method>
